1 Thing Apple Does with iOS Better Than Google’s Andriod

All of you must be curious to know what the big thing is which apple does better. Apple’s adoption of iOS 8 device to a huge extend make apple better than android. Around 81% of Apple devices have iOS 8, 17% device still on iOS 7 and the rest 2% working of iOS 6 or earlier. So this is what makes Google’s Android way more fragmented than the Apple’s iOS.
According to Google Reports, only 5.4% of all Android devices run the latest version of Android (5.0 or 5.1). Among the rest left, around 41.4% still runs on the KitKat which was released 2 years back and the rest run on even an older version of Android. So what is Apple making to keep its users so updated while Google is lacking behind in it.
Fragmentation is an important part for both the companies. As the older version cannot run the new features, latest updates of the new versions of OS is required to keep the user updated with the present technology. The older version does not support the smart watches which are trending these days.

Apple’s iOS being a closed-source is able to control the hardware and delivers over-the-air updates to all its user and keeps them updated. Whereas Google’s Android is open-source which means the companies and users can modify the OS according to their needs. This makes Google powerless to provide updates to all the devices. Around 29% of all Android devices in the world are forked (modified android).
A mobile’s fragmentation is big blind spot that investors should be aware of. Google is helpless in providing the newest features to its users. This results of huge difference in the no. of Android devices that stand against the Apple’s latest iOS which later affects the market shares. Google has to find a way to push its entire hardware partner to upgrade all the Android devices to Lollipop 5.0 or the situation may get worse over time.
